FWIW, Jorgensen said he took "Three steps and stuck up his arm."

I'd guess his three steps were worth a good 2.5 yards (which seems to jive with pics I've seen), plus an extra .5 yards for "forward lean".

Jan stands 6'3" tall. His arm was mostly stretched to his left rather than over his head, so I'd guess his had is about 6'6" from the ground.
