You sound like a Baptist in Mormon clothing.

Ah, Mike. How poorly you understand me.

Like Indy apparently believes, I believe her actions in this life (at least what I know of them) are a credit to her, and that with a little proxy work, she'll be far more worthy of celestial glory than I.

Likewise, I believe the vast majority of individuals who have lived & passed on on this earth are, for the most part good people with good intentions and, with a little proxy work, will inherit celestial glory as well.

So, how *would* one know if this was the case or not? Surely Catholics / priests / monks have felt the spirit over the centuries relative to Papal pronouncements.

(OK, I'll cop to being a weirdo in thinking about this stuff. LOL)

You find me another institution who has discovered two head football coaches as good as Lavell Edwards and Bronco Mendenhall with the patented hire the defensive coordinator from a failing staff because he is cheap method. The hand of God is all to evident, IMO, for it to be attributed to luck and chance. Luck happens once, after that there is clearly some compelling evidence of divine intervention.

You are right. There can only be 3 members of the CG mullah Godhead. Tex, IC, and JL.

I believe in personal revelation, which has told me that Hinckley was God's prophet on the earth today. I have yet to pray specifically about Monson, but see it as being a fairly pointless.

When I was at West Point we did baptisms for the dead for former cadets - even the Jewish ones. I got confirmed for Robert Edward Lee, I am pretty convinced that barring a heavenly excommunication or two it was at least the second or third time that happened.

Lingo, apparently, has taken the last train to the coast, so is no longer here.

I heard a statistic that something like 30-40% of the ordinances in the temple are wasteful repeats. Because of historically poor record keeping of geneaology in the church. I think they are trying to change that.
