Well if three beautiful blondes in bikinis asked two guys on bikes to help launch their boat, wouldn't you comply?
Just a couple of boyscouts doing their neigborly best. Two bad we had to go. But the boat was a Cobalt, so it was nice.  |

if your piss doesn't come out like red grapefruit juice, you didn't suffer.
I speak from experience. |

If it's not a Mastercraft, Malibu, or Centurion tournament boat I consider it beneath me and don't even bother to respond to the invitation... Cobalt... pshaw... |
well, mister hoighty toighty.
My friend has a nice Mastercraft, but I don't own a boat. Boats and planes should not be owned; you just need friends who own them. It wasn't the boat but the occupants who were nice. |

I would much rather cycle than boat. "A boat is a hole in the water into which your money will continually flow." -cactus Roy (a dear friend of mine). I'd love a boat some day but I just don't think I want that kind of attachment. If you buy a boat you take on a lot of other baggage. 1- What do you use to tow it? 2- Where do you park it? 3- Where do you store it in the winter? Then you have some boat owners who become "one trick ponies" because they feel obligated to boat every weekend possible in order to get the benefit of having paid for a boat. |
Back to the original topic...
Apparently the heat owned me today... It's been 12 hours since my ride and I'm really not feeling well. A little sick in the belly and a good head ache going. I'm going to assume it's dehydration and keep drinking water but it might be a little heat exhaustion. I guess I don't feel so bad for turning around with my friend who needed to get back early. I think I might be worse off now if I had kept going. True friend = sees me suffering, knows I want to quit, says "Will you turn back with me so you can give me a ride home? I can't be late for my appointment." You've got to love those friends who protect you from your own stupidity. Unfortunately, the next time the subject comes up all will be exposed for what it was and I will be branded the pussy who had to turn back. I love my bike friends... |
my brother-in-law is a competition water skier. And he operates a ski shop. If I ever desire a competition Mastercraft, I can have it, but they cost about 70K.
Cobalts are good touring boats. PS I don't really like to water ski; you wait too long to get your turn for something which you don't control. Pleasure boating means I can go scuba, swim, snorkel or just lay on the beach. I doubt I will ever own a boat. |
