When a person cuts out costs like medicine and a nice house, what is left can buy a lot of toys.

Some people find a lot of purpose in life from their work. Good for them, but that ain't me.

Based on that, I highly doubt your bishop would be too suspicious. I'm sure he has a wide range of income levels in the ward.

Positve on this one? I was under the impression they did. My FIL pays his tithing in kind and he says the Church sends back a summary for the ward records, anyway, so he doesnt know why he bothers doing it.

Absolutely positive. The church sends a summary to him, not to the ward. It's the same reason why, when you move, you have to contact your former ward's clerks to get your tithing statement for donations made in that ward.

One clarification: if you make a Fast Offering donation to SLC and you want it to go to the ward, you specify that in your donation and they send the money back, but not with your name. The funds appear in the ward's FO budget, but with no donor name attached.

I've spoken with Church HQ more than once on the topic. Call them yourself if you doubt me.

Why would you do it that way?

OK. What is your real name so I can verify that they talked to you? Or do you talk to them under the moniker of "Tex?" Do I just ask for someone who has spoken with Tex?

Wow, this seems to describe Tex perfectly. Scary. But also educational on a go-forward basis.
