Referring to worldwide acclaim in this debate is pretty silly. It's American dollars driving both sports, so regardless of the assiness-level of the common man, the fact remains that football is a FAR greater than basketball in all but one thing: Postseason.

And, my claim that a football tourney in Dec/Jan would surpass the NCAA bball bracket is true.
