4th of July least favorite holiday
 

1. Hot as hell
2. Neighborhood fireworks are lame
3. Half the time you have to go to work the next day

It's the only work holiday between Memorial Day and Labor Day, which spans over 1/4 of the year. Brother, do I need this holiday. I've already put in a 50 hour week and I still have beeper duty tonight.

I love the 4th because it's finally warm.

The 4th of July is my favorite holiday--I like it better than Christmas.

1. I don't have to buy anyone a gift
2. I don't have to send anyone a card
3. I don't have to make anyone cookies
4. I don't have to get out any decorations
5. I don't have to put any decorations away
6. 4th food (burgers and ice cream) is better than Christmas food (ham and pie)
7. It only lasts one day

You forgot one.

8. You get to blow stuff up, be a pyro, and it's all expected.

I love it. It's our wedding anniversary, so I always look forward to the fireworks every year.

It's one of my favs too. I'm a sucker for patriotic stuff. What's not to like?

Are you kidding?! That's the worst part of the holiday! What was the first guy thinking when he thought "Proud to be an American" was a good background song for fireworks? And now we're tortured with it annually? Ack! Where's 1812 when you need it...

That's a lot of pressure to put on Flash each year.

Gonna be a great day tommorrow. Flag raising, 5k run, cub scout breakfast, airplane dropping candy, cubmobile races and spectacular crashes that usually break limbs, chicken chase for the kids, greased pigs, cheerleader lunch and auction, patriotic concert. Lots of folks dressed in camouglage, mossy oak and red, white and blue!

I love the 4th. In addition to the obvious great things about it, it's also one of the few times every year that entire communities get together. Our city puts on a huge carnival, plus a parade, rodeo, and a couple of softball tournaments. It's a blast. My wife and two of the kids went to the parade tonight and me and the other two went and watched softball. It's what summer is all about.

The only thing I love more than 'Merica is Jesus (well, and my wife and kids, of course). So after Christmas, Independence Day is my second favorite holiday. I love the flag, the heat, the parades, the BBQ, Fireworks, Sousa, Greenwood, fetchin' everything. A real special treat for the family is when I play the SSB on the piano and belt out all four verses. The 3rd verse is especially rousing, the one that glories in kicking some limey ass.

We had a big project outsourced to Indian programmers and we fired their sorry, incompetent asses and ended up finishing it in house instead.

My husband's company did the same thing. They've scaled wayy back on outsourcing. They found it was costing more money to pay in-house people to clean up the software messes left by the outsourcers than it would just to pay the in-house guys to do the job properly to begin with.
