mobile.cougarguard.com Is Now Available

Cougarguard now sports a low bandwidth style suitable for mobile devices. Just go to http://mobile.cougarguard.com and you should get the mobile style automatically.

Suggestions for improving the mobile style are always welcome.

When I click on "new posts" under the mobile format, I get taken to the non-mobile format. Is there a way that you could see all the new posts, but still be in the mobile format?

I just noticed that as well. It appears that the "New Posts" feature is done by the search engine and is actually a search result. I'll have to do a little bit of work to make the search results have the mobile style.

Thanks for doing a great job..

Yes we know. BFM will work on it when he gets the time.

Is there any demand for it? I surf using my phone from time to time, but I use OPERA to view the full site.

i will use it.

I had forgotten all about it. I'll take a look at it this weekend (I'm taking Fridy off work) and see if I can fix it.

I'm lazy.

Is it working now?

BigFatMeanie 07-28-2008 10:19 PM

mobile.cougarguard.com now takes you to the forum but it's not loading up the mobile stylesheet (which is configured correctly). I suspect that it's "forwarding" to the forum root instead of being "parked" on the forum root. In other words, delete the existing mobile.cougarguard.com subdomain and then when you recreate the subdomain put /public_html/forum as the document root but don't put anything related to forwarding the subdomain.

Yes, you are right. It doesn't give me an option to choose the root directory. or change it.

Unless we can park the subdomain then our "Different Domain Different Style" plugin won't work.

Well, this is only partially true. It's working in that you now get Cougarguard served up; however, it isn't the mobile stylesheet so there is no advantage to going to mobile.cougarguard.com as opposed to going to regular cougarguard.com.
