What was the number one song

on the day you were born (your birthtune)?

http://www.joshhosler.biz/NumberOneI...electMonth.htm

For me, it was "With a Litte Luck" by Paul McCartney and Wings

Runner Coug 04-16-2008 01:56 AM

"Brand New Key" by Melanie. I got screwed.

Mormon Red Death 04-16-2008 02:16 AM

"Let Your Love Flow" by The Bellamy Brothers

I actually like that song... Of course I like the "Redneck Girl" by the Bellamy Brothers better

creekster 04-16-2008 02:17 AM

Stuck on you by Elvis Presley.

ewth8tr 04-16-2008 02:19 AM

Call Me by Blondie

UtahDan 04-16-2008 02:32 AM

"Black Water" by the Doobie Brothers. That is actually a great song.

A Star is Born.

Mine was I Get Around by The Beach Boys.

A Streisand song?!?

Oh, Barbara, I am sorry.

Out of respect for you, I'll no longer call you Babs.

I know. To make matters worse, I was born in the year of Debbie Boone. (On the other hand, I like to think that's why I so uncannily manage to light up everyone's life.)

Well, at least Debbie Boone has the right idea about politics. Or at least I think she does.

So you've also got that going for you.

Parrot Head 04-16-2008 03:05 AM

Mine is "Sir Duke" by Stevie Wonder. I'm not familiar with, but I already know it has the wrong team in it.

If only I had been three years earlier, I would have had "The Streak" by Ray Stevens. I cannot believe that song was a #1.

UtahDan 04-16-2008 03:07 AM

Barbara and MRD and I were born in the part of the 70's just before disco ruined everything.

SteelBlue 04-16-2008 03:31 AM

The long and winding road by the Beatles

Ugh. Tragedy by the Bee Gees.

I must admit, I had never heard the song, so I just went and listened to it. I stand by my previous statement.

creekster 04-16-2008 03:59 AM

I think a more pertinent question would be what is the song that was number one when you turned 16. This was when you could date, drive, had the pretense of independence and your body was in the midst of hormone wars. That was the time when music was Important. Now this idea seemed very sound until I saw the song that was number one on my 16th birthday. Blechh. But for the rest of you, you should consider it.

"On My Own" by Patti Labelle and Michael McDonald. As you said, blechh.

If you saw Boogie Nights you'd never utter such a statement.

So? What was the song?

When I turned 16, the #1 song was Coming Up by Paul McCartney - the live version from Glasgow.

That particular song is one in which McCartney played all the musical instruments when he recorded it in studio for his album.

The title sounds vaguely familiar, but I don't ever remember ever hearing it.

"The Battle of New Orleans" by Johnny Horton.

I've never even heard the song and vaguely heard of Johnny Horton. I want a do over.

RC Vikings 04-16-2008 04:27 AM

"Love will Keep us together" The Captain and Tennille

This is what it was when I turned sixteen. This just keeps getting worse.

Ok, I looked for it on youtube. I do know the song. It's better than Faith by George Michael.

In honor of you, creekster, here it is for all to enjoy:

I guess it is the band that backed up Barry White. Maybe that explains my success with the ladies...hubba hubba

PaloAltoCougar 04-16-2008 06:27 PM

Children, all of you, except for Creekster. My birthday anthem was "Auf Wiederseh'n Sweetheart," by Vera Lynn. I recall it playing in the delivery room, which explains my reluctance to appear and my mother's lengthy labor.

My 16th birthday was The Doors' "Hello, I Love You," probably the crappiest hit from an otherwise good group.

I was feeling sad that my advanced years produced such old hits, but felt better when I saw BYU71's song was "The Stars and Stripes Forever."

I wouldn't have objected if you had left me in the children group, even if it isn't true.

Does anybody here remember Vera Lynn
Remember how she said that
We would meet again
Some sunny day
Vera! Vera!
What has become of you
Does anybody else in here
Feel the way I do ?
