Mormon painting of Black Eve

Is this the Sltrib trying to manufacture controversy? Meaning that they know about the painting, then they find a SJW at BYU who wants to comment negatively about it, and talk about white male cis-gender patriarchal appropriation. And then they put it out in the universe and hope it goes viral? In general, I suppose, most Mormons aren't too big on naked Eves. He says he has painted a naked white Eve. Remember BYU was the place where Rodin sculptures were too risque. http://www.spokesman.com/stories/199...rodin-exhibit/ |
Black-Americans have a separatist streak. You can't understand their experience, so leave it alone. The positive statement, at least, is true.

The Mullah reaction is predictable and uninteresting.
I just shared this with my African-American woman friend. Based on the history of her posts, she is less sensitive about appropriation. She said it creates a lot of hurt memories that some white guy did it because black women have unresolved trauma from being raped and not loved. (A race at the bottom of the dating food chain? Tell me about it). But she also said it was inspiring and had to be done. Because no one in the Church created a black Eve before. |
Asian males and black women - the bottom of the dating food chain dyad.
In the case of the painting, I guess many might say "Right idea, wrong person." |
