Peanut butter as an ice cream topping

Heat peanut butter in a saucepan, and add a little milk to change the consistency. Then pour over ice cream. Instead of hot fudge, you have hot peanut butter.....mmm mmm.

If you don't add milk, it instantly solidifies once it hits the cold ice cream, and becomes cold chunks.

Delicious.

Been doing this since I was a kid. Haven't tried adding the milk though--I'll have to try that.

Also, use a low heat; you don't want to "cook" the peanut butter. You don't want the oils to separate. If it starts to go dark, you have the heat too high, and add some more milk.

I'll have to try that as well. I love the stuff.

Peanut butter is also fun to sing about:

I have another REALLY good PB sauce. It's simple:

2 parts sugar
1 part water
1 part Peanut Butter (although I add a little more but not too much so it's thicker)

In pan bring sugar and water to a boil and let boil for 45 seconds to a minute so the sugar completely dissolves. Add peanut butter and wisk until smooth. Let cool before pouring on your ice cream though. Oh yeah, use creamy peanut butter.

You can store any leftovers in the refrigerator but it will kind of crystalize a bit. I heat it for 30 seconds or so and mix it. Heat another 30 seconds and the crystals go away once it gets hot enough and you can mix it until smooth.
