Don't want to hope. 1% chance at this rate.

If he went on a mission, that would be huge publicity for the church. Imagine a college player of the year as a freshman than choosing to go on a 2 year mission. The last instance of something like this was Shawn Bradley. This would be much bigger than that, and would help dispel a lot of stereotypes about the church.

In fact, in this regard it would probably be better for the church if he went to a high profile basketball school like Duke. Or UNC. Or Kentucky.

I am selfish. I want what's best for BYU basketball. I would love to see him play one year for BYU.

It would be great for BYU basketball, no doubt about it. We'd see a lot more BYU games on ESPN.

If he chose not to go on a mission, his biggest impact for the church would be to play for BYU. Because then the storyline is "He chose BYU because of his faith."

Not sure if his faith is even a story if he just plays at Duke and goes straight to the NBA.

Unless he pulled a Sandy Koufax and didn't play on the Sabbath in the NBA or something.
