Deep fried campout

I have a new asst. scoutmaster. He has been scoutmaster twice prior, for the same troop, and was actually a YM in the same troop.

So he brings a pot and a big container of peanut oil. He cooked deep fried cajun-crusted chicken as well as onion rings. In the morning, I brought homemade donut batter and we made donuts, as well as fried biscuits, bisquick, more onion rings.

It was fun. We are finally into the part of the year where it gets cool enough to sleep at night without too much trouble.

We put a bunch of lead into the side of a hill for good measure.

he was there too. but he had missed scout meetings for the past 3 months or so because of car trouble.

he's more like having an older scout than he is like having an additional adult leader, bless his heart.
