Michael Vick Press Conference...

Did anyone else watch the Vick statement this morning? I know a lot of you are in Utah, and I admittedly stalled around and made myself late for work waiting for ESPN to show it. I actually thought he did a really good job. I was just wondering what everyone else thought about it.

The oddest thing on ESPN this morning was when they had a bunch of guys in the studio debating whether or not racism was a factor. I thought the black guys were making an excellent arguement, and it was just starting to get interesting when all of the sudden they cut away to show the podium where Vick was going to give his address. Not a sould in sight anywhere on the screen. Just a bare wall, with a podium at the bottom of the picture. The press conference was still a good 10-15 minutes out. So after we get left staring at that for a few minutes they went back to the debate. It wasn't as interesting when they went back. I get the feeling we missed the best part to stare at nothingness.

These cutaways to "nothingness" are not usually by accident. The folks in the ESPN control room see what all of their cameras are showing and pick the shots that go live.

I actually thought MV was sincere and i think he will be back eventually. Skip Bayless has been one of the biggest Vick haters out there and they asked him about what the NFL should do after VIck gets out and Bayless thinks the prison sentence should be concurrent with his NFL suspension and when he gets out he should be allowed back in. I actually agree with this, if he is not being sentenced until December he will be out for a full 2 years if he only serves 12 months, a lot of people think he will get at least 18 months which puts him out close to 3 years he would get out of prison right before the 2010 season.

The directors bit on the play-action.

Killing 6-8 dogs, gambling on dog fights, and doing it over state lines gets you at least a year in jail?

Family friend fondles all the girls I grew up with in the neighborhood and dude serves like 60 days. WTF....

I hope the information he provides to the Fed reduces his sentence to less than a year and he has a real chance to pay next year.

And the Falcons? What the hell is going on? They aren't going to cut him, but they are looking at getting back some of his signing bonus?
