To be brutally honest, I do not know why you would consider this a tragedy for London police. This sounds like, if the reports are true, a pretty screwed up tracking of this man. It sounds like this guy did very little at all and yet he ended up dead over it. It sounds like London got caught up on the events of the week and seriously over-reacted to this.

This is a HUGE tragedy to the family of the man killed...this is a HUGE screwup for the London police but I don't feel bad for the police at all...

Gosh, after reading that article, I think it sounds more like murder than an accident.

It pisses me off that the police lied about the whole thing. Heads must roll. Is the TV media reporting this?

Tragedy for all concerned
 
tragedy for victim and family because he was wrongfully murdered,

and tragedy for police because they may be reluctant to apprehend true terroists.

It is a sign that maybe British police shouldn't carry weapons.
