The Blue-out
 

Here is a picture which, I believe, shows well the results of BYU's efforts to get fans to wear blue to the game:

The effect is noticeable, especially when contrasted with Arizona's fans to the left, but dark blue is still a tough color to get to stand out. Even more than the white shirts, the arms of fans break up the sea of blue-- and there's not a lot that can be done about that, especially during the beginning of the season. The white shirts stand out quite a bit as well.

I was still relatively pleased with the result, though, and I think the next few games should get even better results. The fans that realize they were supposed to wear blue to the game on Saturday should still wear blue, and there should be some that got the message.

it will never look impressive compared to all white or all red or all orange.

but if it makes the fans feel more united, and puts more energy in the stands...

It looks like only select members of the team are doing the Haka. Does the whole team NOT do the Haka?

Correct. Only about half the team.

Most of the players use that haka time to practice football, from what I understand.

I have never been a fan of the Haka. I have always felt it was corny. Although I did watch the James Bates special on it, and it made me feel better about the whole thing. Now that I know only half the team does it.... I feel much better about it as it would seem only those who want to participate.... participate. If it gets them pumped up, go for it.

Somebody forgot to tell Bronco to wear Blue. He was not fully invested.

He can't. Home games the home head coach will wear white (or the secondary color) and all other coaches have to wear the blue. It is so the officials can easily spot the head coach and distinguish them from the other coaches.

Yesterday they did it after all the warm-up drills were done. You can see from AA's pic that the non-haka guys are just standing there watching.

Hey, if he was fully invested he'd find a way to make it happen Sizz. (Please tell me you know I was kidding.)
