One good thing about this loss...

This is one of those time, that in losing, we managed to piss off the Utes.

il Padrino Ute 09-25-2005 03:51 AM

I think most Utes aren't ticked..

most I know would rather see TCU lose to other teams in conference play.

Myself, while a Cougar win would have helped out my Utes, I won't lose any sleep tonight about it.

My question about this game would be which officiating call was worse? The non-fumble or the pick? Can anyone who saw both give an opinion?

Well, anyone but WJ Ass.

MikeWaters 09-25-2005 04:09 AM

It's hard to say which was worse. Personally I hate replay, but that's another issue.

I don't know what the exact rule is on picks.

Because of the poor angles of the tv cameras, it was hard to overturn the call. I hate the idea that a game could be decided by replay though. I find replay as arbitrary as calls on the field.

il Padrino Ute 09-25-2005 04:12 AM

Agreed..

Personally, I'm against replay for one simple reason: I am of the belief that the human element should be a part of games, even if that human element is an official that blows it.

The bottom line is that both Utah and BYU got beat because they failed to stop TCU from scoring the winning TD on OT.

Well, only some of us . . .

I figure BYU teams are going to win or lose games regardless of what I hope they will do.

I actually think the TCU-BYU game show the "parity of mediocrity" that exists in the MWC this year. Everyone's pretty mediocre. It seems (but it's too early to say) that Utah and TCU may be above average in a mediocre conference. I would say the same about BYU but giving up 51 points to TCU kind of takes you down a half-notch -- for now. We may all be in the same sorry boat by the end of the season. Then again, Utah might improve. We lack the depth on defense to do that, I fear. I don't know enough about BYU or Bronco to know if you guys can improve.

WJCougar 09-26-2005 05:06 PM

That makes no sense.

That makes no sense LA Ute. FIrst you say the MWC is a "parity of mediocrity", then you go on to say Utah and TCU are above mediocre and that BYU is on it's way down?

So what is it?

Archaea 09-26-2005 05:17 PM

No mediocrity is a broad field.

There may be a lot of parity, but parity is not tantamount to equivalence. His usage was proper.

JazzyUte 09-27-2005 09:43 PM

Exactly. Last year the MWC was terrible, however Utah wasn't. It's the total aspect of things. The MWC may be a mediocre conference with two above average teams.
