Contador is boss, but is he Le Patron?

COntador is assured he is the team leader:

Contador is not so sure and is waiting to see how it works. Can't say I blame him there. Remeber when Hinault and Guimard told Lemond he was the leader but in reality Hinault remained Le Patron?

If you have to declare publicly that you are Le Patron, you're not really Le Patron. Hinault was the ultimate one and controlled everything that went on. I'm not sure you could say that about Lemond. Fignon controled the pelaton more then Lemond did in 89 and in 90 a teammate had 10 minutes on him which would have never happened with Hinault. Indurain won because of unbelievable TT abilities, not because he had control of the group. Armstrong was the boss and everybody new it. Armstrong was even a little vengeful in the way he ran it. Conatodor may be the best rider but he won't be Le Patron.
