that's ok. Our QB doesn't like to hand off anyway.

Honor code. I doubt he will ever play for BYU again. He will transfer and sit out this season.

This is like a broken record. BYU kicking out black non-Mormon athletes.

It has been alleged that there is a double standard at BYU in terms of HC enforcement. They look the other way for white athletes, and they crack down on black athletes.

Or perhaps it's not really the HC office that is the difference, it's that the surrounding community (students, teachers, observers) are watching these black athletes and just waiting to find something and report them.

After all, there is a long history of white America being very uncomfortable with black males associating with white females.

Now I have no idea what is going on with Williams. I just no that the media is saying honor code. Who knows what that might be. Maybe someone said he cheated on a test.

That hurts. I hope he comes back next year. I was wondering about his injury, and based on some of the rumors that I've seen, he was likely going to struggle with it this year.

I can't think of a single player who sat out an entire season for an honor code violation and came back. Certainly not a star player like him.

Harvey Unga, Reno Mahe. Pretty sure on those two, but I could be wrong.

MikeWaters 08-07-2015 08:29 PM

Unga never played again after his honor code violation. He went into the supplemental draft and was picked in the 7th round by the Bears.

Mahe according to wikipedia transferred to Dixie State after his honor code violation. And then returned to BYU for his junior year.

So neither of those are the case that I described.

What is your solution to this? I don't want to sit around and snope around white athletes in the name of equality. Double whammy. If I did, I'd volunteer to do it.

Two possible solutions.

First, give the non-LDS athletes a break by being more understanding.

Second, return the Honor Code to an honor system, where it is not reportable, if it is not a violation of the law, or a matter of academic fraud. If it a breach of LDS behavioral standards, let it be an ecclesiastical matter, not a school attendance matter.
