Philadelphia YSA Ward

It's located aside UPenn campus. It's under the jurisdiction of the UPenn police.

I loved the ward for a few reasons.

Diversity: They have slightly more African-American converts than DC, and given the ward is smaller, they constitute a bigger proportion of the ward. There are converts who were once homeless. And there was also a UPenn freshman in engineering from Jamaica who was baptized not long ago. In munch and mingle after church, he meshed with everyone else. They also had another African-American teach priesthood.

Students: A lot of bright students at UPenn, Temple, college and grad school. The most prestigious school in the DC area is Georgetown, which is great but not UPenn. Some guy mentioned he scrapped the PhD portion of his MD/PhD program during testimony meeting.

Lots and lots of engineers: Mechanical, biomedical, etc, since Philly is a manufacturing town. This is refreshing given the preponderance of lawyers I normally see in DC.

Harmony: Everyone seems to get along really really well.

Sounds like a great ward. Did you move there, or were you just visiting?
