Richard Dutcher and the end of LDS cinema...

Based on the failure of "God's Army 2: States of Grace", it's safe to say that we'd rather watch stupid, glorified roadshows (ie. HaleStorm) than movies that are actually well-made and require us to be a little introspective. That's sad...

don't despair. maybe it will do well with its DVD run. I haven't had a chance to see it yet.

Does that mean his movie on Joseph Smith is no more?

I thought States of Grace was one of the better movies I saw all of last year.

States of Grace was a good movie; the end lasted a little too long though. It was much better than Brigham City. Joseph Smith should completed filming and in editing by now.

Never make the mistake of overestimating the good taste of LDS people when it comes to the arts.

Truly. Just look around at the dishes at the next pot-luck function at your ward to know eveything you need to know about how sophisticated the tastes of your average LDS are (yes Indy, I know, it isn't like that in your ward).

LOL. Oh man, isn't that the truth. In our ward, people think my wife and I are freaks because we like sushi and Thai food.

You mean funeral potatoes are not a delicacy?
