Favorite candy?

My son and I were at SuperTarget yesterday, discussing the finer points of candy selection. He really has atrocious taste. He likes those awful sour things.

He must get it from Mr. Gordon whose favorite is jelly belly sours mix.

My favorite are those gummy peach rings. A dollar a bag. can't beat that.

Does chocolate count? I could eat a dozen Hundred Grand bars without coming up for air once.

My wife loves those Peachies. Every road trip we take she stockpiles 2 or bags of those things.

Candy. Now this is a topic I'm well familiar with.

Licorice: I like Red Vines at the movies, strawberry Twizzler's on road trips, and Watermelon or Cherry Pull n' Peels at work. Cabela's has a very good blue raspberry licorice. I do not like chocolate or black licorice.

Swedish Fish: Buying fresh is the key. While pre-packaged Swedish Fish will satisfy a craving, freshly made Swedish Fish are where it's at. Cracker Barrell and Amish candy stores have the best. I do not like multi-colored Swedish Fish.

Sour Treats: Just like Swedish Fish, Sour Treats are best when eaten fresh. I enjoy the Sour Patch Kids, but I really like Sour Watermelon Gummies. I do not like peach rings.

Chocolate: M&M's, mainly plain, are my weapon of choice. During Christmas I love to eat Mint M&M's. They're fun to eat by just grabbing a handful or you can down a bag soda can style. I also like Milky Way, Watchamacalit, 3 Musketeers, Crunch, Butterfinger and Krackle. I do not like dark chocolate. It tastes like tar.

OH man, I could go on for hours on this subject:

Dots--as long as they are not stale, man, I can eat those for days. A trick though, if they are stale, put them in the microwave for a few seconds and they will be tasty again.

Cherry Twizzlers--These are fabulous as are the red vines as long as they are soft and not stale.

Twix candy bars--there is something about cookies covered in chocolate and caramel.

Swedish fish--are good for any occasion.

Now, chocolate, that's a whole nother category.

I can down the hundred grand bars with the best of them. But I'm a Reeses girl at heart. I could eat anything that company sold - that is until they went all fancy and started with "white chocolate reeses" and "inside out reeses." Those are just awful. My fave: the Reese Big Cup and the Reeses Easter Eggs.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. chocolate covered caramels. mmmm. caramel.

I agree about Reeses. They're delicious. I advise you to not eat the Reeses brownie. Trust me.

Red Vines are the best licorice hands down.

I could probably live on a 5 pound bag of gummy bears too.

my favorite candies would have to be either Chewy Sweet Tarts (the giant ones) and real Nougat http://www.nougat.co.za/images/plain_almond_nougat.jpg

for a candy bar I like Milky way Darks http://www.milkywaybar.com/products/...prod_bar02.jpg

European dark chocolate with nuts, especially hazelnuts.
Dark chocolate truffles

Really, I see no point in candy that isn't chocolate.

SeattleUte 03-27-2007 08:56 PM

Dark chocolate with whole almonds or hazel nuts. (Is that candy or real food?) It's the only "candy" I eat. Great with a glass of cabernet.
