I read all the screenshots of only a little of the analysis. All of them are needy/demanding, except the last one. I probably would have said one of them immediately after my mission. The last guy can use some PUA skills, where neediness is treated as enemy #1.

But at the end of the day, you're gonna creep some girls out. If you approach a girl and tell her you think she's cute, some girls will be floored, some will find it creepy. You polarize.

During my last year at BYU, I saw a clinical psychologist at the Wilk. She asked me what are some exercises I can do to overcome anxiety on dates. I suggested going to UVSC and talking to random girls. I'd never see them again so whatever happens, it'd be OK. She gave me her blessing.

About three years later, I discovered pickup.

I'm skeptical of "pick up" being a good strategy for finding an eternal mate.

what does "pick up" mean in this context?

MikeWaters 05-23-2016 09:59 PM

There's this whole economy around "pick up" "gurus" who sell books, videos, and workshops to frustrated men who feel that they can't get a girlfriend, have sex, or get married.

I'm not terribly familiar with it, but the media accounts I see note that there is a lot of sexism and treating women as objects to conquer. A lot of scoreboarding and "conquest."

Treating the entire process like a logical puzzled to be solved that ends up with you having sex with a woman.

Like you said, it has spawned an entire industry, with many variations on its method. Not monolithic.

The objectification part was originally designed to game party girls.

Here's the account that started first. Making fun of Provo girls.
