In the spirit of MikeWaters' religious and political conspiracy theories
In light of the PBS documentary, the Sharpton comments and so forth, how much do you want to bet that the Church calls a black member to a high profile church calling in the next year to help bolster his presidency bid?

If one wanted to really send a message, I think you have to call a black apostle. Of course, meaning that the Lord is sending the message. Hopefully, if a black apostle is called, we'll have some mullahs apostasize. |

I don't how Tex could stand it. Lingo would apoplectic over a black apostle. You seemed quite happy with the priesthood ban for blacks given your defense of it.
I could just see the BRM and Benson types leaving, claiming the Church had lost its way. |

Where on earth do you get the idea I'm a racist in any way? |

I'm no intellectual, never claimed to be one. But I haven't read anybody who tried harder to defend the priesthood ban as being God's decision by anybody other than you, Tex and Lingo.
Everybody else here has decried Brigham Young's ban as a racist decision by an otherwise good and successful prophet. For me, there is and never was a justification for the ban, especially in light of Joseph Smith's ordination of blacks, and the many other inconsistencies. You defended the indefensible. Hence, a hint of racism hovers over you three. |
Hmm... still waiting for examples of how I'm racist. Maybe links to some posts would be nice.

Two: I never, not once defended the priesthood ban except in the most strained sense of the word. I simply said (over and over and over and over) that one cannot hold God "blameless" of the decision while blaming his prophets. |
