Smith might be done with the 49ers

either that or Nolan will be gone after their final game this year. I don't see the two of them together again after this season, especially after this...

"In his strongest act of rebellion to date, Smith on Monday said that Nolan has tried to "undermine" his reputation in the locker room. In an exclusive interview with the Mercury News, Smith said Nolan made it clear to teammates that the quarterback was using injuries as an excuse for poor performance, a charge that has left Smith's locker-room reputation in shambles."

It's weird to see reports of Alex Smith being 'persona non grata' in the locker room. He's always struck me as a guy who his teammates liked. The 49ers organization has just been poisonous the last few years.

That sounds pretty desperate on Nolan's part.

Honestly, Smith should've shut it down for the season with the first shoulder injury...it seemed bad enough that he could have...especially if he was talking with James Andrews.

The 49ers are in trouble. No first round pick this year (goes to NE) and a team in shambles.

As someone who is pulling for Smith to succeed, I hope he goes somewhere more stable and gets a shot. Then again, that would be 4 OC's in 4 years regardless of where he goes. He's in a tough situation.

I doubt Nolan survives this season.

Not a Smith or 49ers fan for that matter. But this situation is sad. I doubt that Nolan survives either. But whether or not he is there, Smith will have a hard time succeeding with the fallout from all of this. That's the burden of being a number one pick. Smith needs another chance with another team.

I thought I heard very recently that SF owners had given Nolan their vote of confidence. It sounded to me like he'll get another year.

Mike Martz is new 49ers offensive coordinator

He said the best way to have Alex Smith start working with his fourth offensive coordinator in four years is to "wipe the board clean," He said he'll start with the basic of the offense, down to getting the snap from center.

Yeah, it makes me ill to think that the pats could get darren mcfadden. that would be lame. All that hard work in sucking and the niners don't even benefit.

RockyBalboa 01-09-2008 06:37 PM

I don't think it matters who they bring in.

The 49ers will still suck.
