Has anybody talked to anybody at Ute fall practice?

Everybody I speak to raves about the new team, but that is to be expected with the success they've had.

I went to one practice and I'll share a few thoughts

Obviously I'm not one who thinks Casteel is on his way to a Heisman campaign or that we are going to have the best WRs in the conference but I am excited about a few things after seeing some of the players in action.

The WR that Utah have are all big and fast. We have about 4 guys who are 6'3 and bigger playing the position. Huff and Freddie Brown are unknowns but are both very talented. Freddie Brown was very solid in drills and in the scrimage.

Brian Johnson has the potential to be good from what I saw but he will certainly struggle this year. However, for Utah to be successful and compete for the conference championship we don't need Alex Smith, we need someone who is better than Lance Rice and he is certainly that from what I saw.

The defensive line is looking great and should be the anchor for the defense.

Just a few of my thoughts from the practice I saw.

This is the first time I can ever remember that you could tell me Utah has four WR's over 6'3" with speed, and I'm not jealous.

Not a dig at Utah - I've never been as excited about our WR talent and depth than I am now.
