vs. Washington
another uninspired performance.
Also a game that showed us the continued gap between BYU and the top 30 to 40 of college football. BYU could not compete in any major conference. Bronco has proven that to us. At a certain point, do we not think of this product as uninspired? Without improved recruiting, nothing will change given the coaching we have on hand. |
Not sure about that. BYU moved the ball just fine against WA, out gaining them 473-319. Each team had one turnover. The difference was 1. BYU's utter inability to finish drives, particularly in the second quarter where they put up tons of yardage but had only one td to go with 3 field goals and 2. BYU's poor kickoff coverages. WA had a td from a kickoff return and one that was set up neatly by a long kickoff return. That's 14 points right there - really the difference in the game.
It was a frustrating game to watch. http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=333610264 |

BUT I do think that BYU could compete in a major conference if BYU then could get some recruits that traditionally went to that(PAC12, Big 10) conference. |

Kickoff coverage is random stuff, I don't care about that. |

Meaningless yards. You obviously are not a Cowboys fan. Cowboys do that every year. Rack up lots of yardage and lots of losses.
This year's offense consisted of sending receivers down field and then Taysom Hill scrambling. Doesn't work in the red zone because the defense gets compressed. In the red zone you need a strong offensive line (ABSENT), and the ability to execute precision passes (ABSENT), and it never hurts to have the ability to throw to a tight end (ABSENT). |
