Below are just a few articles from a Google search on "Obama assault weapons ban".

The fact that Obama wants an assault weapons ban doesn't mean one will get passed. The Blue Dogs will make it somewhat challenging to enact a bill with any real teeth to it. But the fact that Obama wants an assault weapons ban is certainly not new information. Get a grip.

nobody believes a word that Obama says about guns. His record has about 100% concordance with the Brady Handgun Control Institute folks. Hence the huge rush on "assault weapons", high-capacity magazines, and ammunition going on right now.

So nobody believes Obama, a point which you wanted to emphasize by linking to an article by somebody who feels deceived and let down by Obama?

The point isn't that nobody believes him. The point is that he is doing exactly what he said he would do on guns and you don't like it. Rather than whining and calling him a liar for doing precisely what he repeatedly said he would do, you ought to try to find ways to advance your point on the merits.

Probably a more accurate representation of Obama on this issue is that he talked out of both sides of his mouth. Big surprise.

Exactly. He would say, "Yes, I support 2nd Amendment Rights. As do the Brady folks, whom I agree with 100%."

For Obama, only allowing 1 deer rifle per family, with required integral locks, microstamped ammunition, federal registration and tax is perfectly compatible with how he feels about the 2nd amendment.

He tried to paint himself deceptively as gun friendly all the while harboring an agenda to limit Second Amendment rights. If one scoured his opinions carefully one could detect his animosity for the Second Amendment but he was anything but completely honest about his orientation. He is that way on all issues. A highly intelligent lawyer with extreme skill in legal analysis can determine his positions, but the average non lawywer is lulled into a sense of comfort that Obama supports everything.

Obama is anti-2nd Amendment. There is no denying this.

Of course there is denying it. He is pro 2nd Amendment. His interpretation of it merely differs from your own.
