Holmoe said it will be days, weeks, or months before we know anything.

isn't that what someone on twitter said that he said?

Yes.

these twitter sources are a joke. people trolling byu fans.

national sources have also been a joke. The B12 wasn't even looking at expansion they said the day before the big 12 announced they were going to expand.

No, that "days and weeks" quote actually came from the news conference announcing the new Beehive Classic basketball event and was relayed through several mainstream news sources like this one. Tom H having said it is not in dispute. What it means exactly and what he knows is open to speculation.

"BYU Director of Athletics Tom Holmoe was in Salt Lake City on Thursday for the Beehive Classic announcement and was also asked about Tuesday’s bombshell that the Big 12 board of directors had voted to pursue expansion.

“At this point in time there's not really a lot to report because we'll learn more a lot more in the next days and weeks to follow,” Holmoe said. “At that point we'll have more to say. But this is something that's been a long time coming. And we'll try to put our best foot forward."

I'm not afraid to say it. If the Big 12 expands, BYU will be one of the teams. And this is after trying to take any emotion out of my thought process. I also don't think the Big 12 or the networks want a knee-jerk, emotional decision on this. The objective data favors BYU over the others by a long, long way.

I think BYU is the best candidate, but I still refuse to believe that the Big 12 will pull the trigger on BYU. I think they do something like Houston and Cincy.

There is a reason no one thought they would expand and it's because they thought BYU was automatically off the table and teams like UH and Cincy make no sense and bring nothing to the table. Just from looking around the internet on this topic the last few weeks makes me conclude it's BYU fans who are most likely to think BYU isn't in the mix.
