TCU hires Jaime Dixon, Pitt's coach
Dixon is a TCU alum. This a huge get for TCU and will turn their basketball program around. For them, this is the equivalent of BYU football hiring Andy Reid.
Just shows that TCU is willing to do what it takes to get to the top of the heap. Is BYU? No. Not willing. Not saying that's a bad thing. Just speaking truth. |
TCU basketball has many inherent problems. No coach has won there in quite some time. Trent Johnson, the coach they just fired, was very successful at Nevada and even Stanford, and was considered an up and coming star at the time he took the TCU job. I'm not sure why any decent coach would take the job. It's a coaching graveyard. Of course, so was SDSU before Steve Fisher, so I guess the right guy might be able to get it to work.
