Very good movie. Maybe the best I've seen in the last year. We just picked up randomly at Blockbuster not knowing much about it, but turns out it was nominated for best picture, best actor, etc.

Really good acting. The chick that won best supporting actress for it deserved it.

I didn't quite catch Clooney's character's motivation at the end--whether it was morals, revenge, redemption, greed, or what.

I thought it was good, but not worthy of best picture by a longshot.

I was interested, but not emotionally invested.

Definitely worth seeing.

I like morality plays, but this one wasn't a morality play, even though it was trying to be one.

Wife and I argued over this. She thought it was. I wasn't convinced. Clooney's upset over never getting paid for what he does but he doesn't seem upset about the lack of ethics his job requires. I believed he was going for the money in the final scene and when it was a sting, I thought maybe he had a bigger payday waiting for him through his firm by saving the company.

In good morality plays, you feel the weight of the choices on the protagonist. There was no such moment or moments in this film. He gets his car blown up, and then he turns.

I just thought he cleaned up messes, and that was a big mess. He didn't appear to care much about right v wrong, just about getting the job cleaned up. For his firm, that was a potentially firm-ending mess he was put in charge of. He fixed it, and he got to destroy the person who killed his friend.

I thought the opposite. I felt if she was one of the weaker part of the films. Turns out I was wrong but she was way to melodramatic for my taste and I found her unbelievable.


I did enjoy the movie a lot.

Is this Clooney's character in the movie or Clooney himself?

I still haven't seen No Country, but it comes out on DVD in a couple of weeks.

Such a flattering depiction of lawyers, I thought. I could watch George Clooney in anything, but he somehow didn't seem quite right for the part to me.

I think it was more of a suspense drama than a moral one. I liked Tilda Swinton, but I didn't get what her big motivation was to cover everything at all costs. Why was she so protective of the company to go to those extremes? That murder scene disturbed me greatly. Over in a flash--clean, neat, tidy, and out of nowhere.

Why did the killers try to be undetectable with the first guy, and then use the most obviously detectable method for Clooney?
