Dspite winning, BYU dropped from .414 (15th) to .374 (17th), being passed by Ball State, Michigan State, and North Carolina.

Last week Utah trailed USC by .058 but now the gap is down to .020.

I think Utah will make up some good ground next week when it plays SDSU. Pollsters will be all over that.

It's hard to forecast. After all, USC's trip to .500 Stanford is a revenge game, so Pistol Pete might RUTS.

Fortunately, the media already considers SC to be an elite team, so nothing to prove.

I am sure they feel similarly about Utah, though. After all, who amongst us isn't cheering for the BCS Grand Slam...wandering aimlessly from bowl to bowl to the one spot that is forced to accept the non-BCS school. Ki yi!

Enjoy the same thing next week.

Yeah, but it's not the media that's pulling SC down. It's the computers.

Although it hardly matters, as there's fundamentally no difference between being ranked 5th, 6th, or 7th in the BCS. You either get an auto-bid by being ranked 1 or 2 or winning a BCS conference (or placing top 12 from a non-BCS conference), or you just pray that somebody wants you. The rank doesn't matter.

Agreed, SDSU is presently ranked lower than Washington and Wassou were when USC creamed them and proceeded to drop in the polls. Hopefully BYU will win at Air Force, to maximize the result of the 11/22 game.

If the Utes win out, which BCS bowl do you think will begrudgingly invite them? Or, put differently, which BCS bowl will have the lowest TV ratings?
