Took the teachers camping/biking last week

We rode mtn bikes from Snoqualmie Pass (in the Cascades) to the Columbia River. Good times, but hot. Then we migrated to Bumping Lake - 20 miles east of Rainier for the rest of the week. There we did several day rides, hikes and shot trap in the afternoon. At night we cooked good food and read the scriptures. Nice week.

Sounds like a great trip. Those 2 lakes you posted pics of are beautiful. How many kids did you take?

Just three. We also had three leaders with us for the entire week. Two guys just left the quorum. One turned sixteen the week before the trip and the other guy’s birthday was during the week of our trip. They both opted to go with the priests - which is cool.

We are lucky (not the right word) to have these three guys in the quorum. They are all athletic and good natured. We could grind out rides and some nice hikes without much grumbling.

When I saw them on Sunday, there was nothing but smiles and stories about the week.

One night, while on an astronomy hike, I was telling them of Big Foot sightings in the area. During the stories another leader would throw rocks (undetected) into the bushes up ahead of us. Scared the crap out of two of them. Good times.

One small correction for the record - they were all stronger riders than me on our 50+ mile days. The other two leaders run marathons, the YM are all two sport athletes and I spend too much time in between a keyboard and a chair.
