game against Southern Miss (NIT)

I almost missed this game. Good thing a friend texted me.

Fun game. The difference here was that Southern Miss had no bigs. And Davies and even Nate Austin could be dominant inside. Even if our bigs didn't score much, that pressure led to open shots from the outside. Zylstra had a great game, and I have wondered why he didn't do more of this during the season. When he is playing the 4, and has a guy who doesn't get out on the perimeter guarding him, he should be ready to shoot.

Glad to see Cusick get limited minutes.

Hats off to Nate Austin. Usually watching him play makes me ill. But he was actually dominant during this game due to his size advantage.

Two players made me ill last night. Cory Calvert. Wow, he was terrible. Fumbling the ball away. Shooting absolute bricks. He was awful all around. For the life of me I cannot understand why Rose is giving him minutes over Anson Winder. WE DON'T F-ING NEED ANOTHER SLOW GUARD WHO CAN'T SHOOT AND MAKES BAD DECISIONS! The other player is Kafusi. He is an embarrassment. This moron can foul out in 3 minutes. Doesn't feel fair that we called Plaisted "peanut-brain." This guy has the brain of a mustard seed.

It's really heartening to see Carlino play well. He still has those brain-dead turnovers, but at least he's playing with confidence, distributing the ball, and knocking down some key shots.

Haws was indeed the ice man last night. So many key jumpers in important moments.

Great game by the Cougars. Good to see they are finishing the season on a high note. And they are getting an opportunity of a lifetime, getting to play in MSG.

Thanks for the report. I missed the game as I had it scheduled another day.

Hopefully I can catch the Baylor game.

A zone can work with the right players. Did you see what Syracuse did to Indiana?

Anson needs to play for his defensive abilities.
