Guess the rate..

I'm closing on my home in 1 week.. Next Tuesday is closing. I'm doing an FHA loan and the rates dropped from 5.75 to 5.50. I learned that the rates may change daily and it's always by 25 points.

So the game will be who can guess the rate. There's only a few possible options 6.25, 6.00, 5.75, 5.50, and dreaming about 5.25 or maybe 5.00? My hope is to be able to get in at 5.50. Be the first to guess the rate correctly and you win a prize.

I have no idear.

However, when you move in, if you notice your neighbors trees have been TPed, you will know that it was my oldest son and his friends under my direction.

Dang, next time I'll help... I actually met my soon-to-be next door neighbor the other day. He seemed to be single and had a buddy living with him while he renovates his home in Sandy. He said there is a widow living across the street and her son has recently moved in with her. And their are 2 families of renters up the street a little bit. Overall he just said it's a really quiet neighborhood. I kind of figured we may be one of the younger families on the street. It gets me curious about the ward...

You will be one of the younger families. There are a lot of original homeowners in the stake - most homes were built in the early to mid 60s - but you'll fit in just fine. Just down the street from you - in the home that was just built - is a great family. They have only one child and he's one of my boy's friends.

And if you ever need a sitter, my daughter is one that everyone seems to love.

I'm just jealous that you have the 9:00-noon block. We're 1:00-4:00.

You should be close to 5% if things stay as they are.

Really?!?! That would be great! I'm not holding my breath, but that would be pretty darn amazing.

My loan comes out of underwriting tomorrow. The guy I was working with at Wells Fargo wouldn't release the FHA case number until his boss did it today I guess. I have no idea what it is at... I'm stressed out, which is funny because I can't control it, I'm just really hoping at worst my rate will be at 5.75. We close on Tuesday. I guess we'll lock the rate on Monday?

Junkie, correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like rates as of today are around 5.625--5.75% range. Thats a half a point bump up within a day or two. Wild.
