Walmart racist?

Walmart has decided not to sell firearms in "inner city stores".

Paternalistic effort to protect blacks and hispanics? Or just plain only wanting whites to own guns?

So if I want to buy a cheap Marlin from Walmart, I have to drive out to the suburbs.

Probably an effort to save/make more money. Do people in the inner city hunt and fish all that much? I would generalize and say not as much as those in the burbs.

As a simple matter of fact, if walmart sold cheap handguns in the inner city, there would be a drastic increase in murder in the inner city.

That would make walmart look bad (worse). That would be bad for the inner city.

As one who supports the right to own firearms, I tend to support deterrents to 'casual ownership,' regardless of race. The fact of the inner city is this-- there is a serious gang culture. The gang culture crosses many racial lines. The violence in the gang culture is fed by easy access to inexpensive handguns.

I boycott walmart, but I a glad they aren't selling guns in the inner city, and I think that standards of gun ownership in America should be raised for all.
