Deer hunting with 6.8mm

My uncle says that this round is appropriate/ok for hunting deer. Any thoughts? Anyone ever shot it?

I've shot a 7mm, but that sounds like an exotic round. Who makes it?

The 7mm is a perfect round for deer and even sometimes elk.

Utah hunt starts on Saturday. Can't wait.

Never heard of a 6.8 mm.

I'm sitting out this year's hunt. Too many kids' activities going on. I'm bummed.

I've never heard of a 6.8mm.

IMO, 7mm is too much. I'd rather use a 7mm for elk or even moose.

That's why I like my 30.06.

It could probably bring down something the size of Victor Unga.

I like the 30-30 for big animals, though the 7mm has a lot of good uses.
