UNM was playing really well...

To go into the Pit and beat UNM is the best win of the Dave Rose era yet. Far more impressed with BYU winning tonight than I was with either thrashing of UNLV or the win at Air Force last year. That was a ballsy tough victory. When is the last time BYU had a road win over a team that will probably finish in the top 40 of the RPI?

BYU should win out through the regular season to win the MWC outright at 14-2. If they do that and make it to the MWC tourney semis, I think they are looking at an 8 seed. Make the championship game and it is probably a 7. Win out the rest of the year and it is a strong case for a 5 seed and 6 at the worst.

I thought a few weeks ago that there were three things that BYU has yet to do under Rose. They were beat UNLV in Vegas, win at Cox Arena in San Diego over the Aztecs and win that elusive first round tourney game. I thought it likely that 2 out of the 3 would be accomplished. If I had my pick the best two would be the tourney win and beating UNLV in Vegas in that order.

I think I am pumped. Very solid win and a sign of mental toughness that the program has been lacking.

Brethren, somebody is livin' right!

Very, very, very clutch of Trent to make those two FTs. I think I heard them say TP shoots 38% FTs on the road, so way to sack up TP.

You could tell it was a huge W for Rose by his reaction after shaking the NM players' hands. Nice job coach.

Extremely impressive victory. I must admit I wasn't sure they could come back. Anybody want to check CB to see how many times somebody said "IT'S OVER!"? over/under is 5.

Cummard has fouled out of every competitive game this season, with perhaps one exception. I'm not sure what to make of that.

Very true. TP had a crappy game against the Aztecs, but to come back the way he did tonight was very impressive. This is the kind of game that bodes well for the post-season.

JT was going to be the object of my fearsome wrath (what did he shoot, 12% from the floor?), but that was some righteous D he put on Giddens in the 2d half.

It wasn't just that TP made those FTs, but they were both absolutely dead center. Pure sweetness.

Crapola. I set my DVR to record the game but it got messed up. Argh. I hope there is a replay scheduled.

I was afraid the refs were going to call a foul

Mtn. replays games all the time...they probably will once or twice tomorrow.

BYU's rpi is up to 22, although I'm not sure how the next two games against poor teams will affect it. If we can at least maintain that number after the tourney we'll be in line for a 6-7 seed.
