Tour de goatneck
In Cleburne, TX. 70 miles. Rolling hills.
About 20 miles from finish, after a pull, felt twitch in my quad. I spent the rest of the ride trying to prevent cramping. SLowed me down considerably. I know the ups and downs for you guys would be nothing. But I mainly ride on flat courses. Plus I've hardly ridden this year. I ended up doing it in about 4 hours even. Maybe slightly worse than last year, but I was riding more last year. I sped up a tad at the finish, going to 23mph. As soon as I stopped and put a foot down to try and get off my bike, both quads cramped. Took me 2 minutes to get off my bike. But overall a great ride. http://www.thegoatneck.com/goat4.jpg |
If you're going to do and up and down course like that, the column on the left is my favorite part.
I can handle a hilly course that tops out at around 1000 feet. I have no idea how my friends do those kinds of rides when they start at 5000. |
Waters, you're putting on some good miles lately. What gives? The whole basketball thing not working out, or this in addition to hoops?
