The airplane crash in San Diego

Your heart goes out to this man who just lost about everything a man can lose. And then to reach out and ask to pray for the pilot who safely ejected. Man.

This reminds of a very good movie, The Great Santini. I won't tell you the ending, but it is a little bit different than what happened here.

Nice reference. Remember the basketball scene?

I wonder if, among other pilots, he didn't follow an unwritten rule on this one - to stay with it until it was over the brush. I'm not one to say.

When you look at the base, man he was so close. How long to cover two miles at that speed? Eight, nine seconds?

Of course I remember the basketball scene(s).

You would think the pilot would be feeling terrible. On the other hand, he just might be feeling sorry for himself. Who knows. Plenty of people in this world don't give a shit about anyone else. Having said that, it's impossible to judge.

I last saw that movie over 20 years ago, and I only remember 2 things from it.

1. The Dad bouncing the basketball off his son's head over and over again, calling him a sissy.

2. The vomit scene.

I was maybe 15 when I watched it, so those scenes stuck with me for a reason.

It's a must-see film, and I may need to rent it again, because I don't think Farrah has seen it.
