Fundraiser

We had a successful fundraiser last month, a service auction, that raised about $3100.

I talked to a troop from Plano (a suburb of Dallas) and discovered that they also had a service auction. Theirs netted $14,000.

To me, the difference is jaw-dropping. What parent would want their kid to go to summer camp with only two other scouts in the troop?

Us urban wards just plain can't compete. This is a case of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer.

We have several new families that moved in. All with either no kids or toddlers. Young.

I'm still proud of our $3100. But dang it, now I know how the other half live.

There's an easy solution to your problem you know. Move to the 'burbs like the rest of us. ;)
