Glad I found this site.

I was a rare poster over on Cougarboard. I only wanted to get some BYU information from over there, but it seemed that the Soap Opera was an on going theme. I am a Moderator on a Denver Bronco website and spend most of my online time there, but I am a Cougar fan. As such, I am also a C-net member. Good to see some of the names that I recognize as good posters from the Cougarboard.

Sorry, I thought I was logged in. I won't make that mistake again.

OK. After being here a few days and looking around. I need to add something to my introduction. I really like the format here better than that other site that I no longer even have in my bookmarks. It is much easier to read a thread and refer back to it. One question though, why do the new posts markers clear when I visit one new post?

They shouldn't.

They should stay up until you view each new topic, at least until you log off from each session. Thats the only time that it should clear the "new post" marker on an unread thread.

FWIW, I also clearly prefer this format to some other comparable cougar message boards.

I was having this same exact problem and here is what I finally figured out. Before, to get out of the topic, I would just click on the cougarguard.com banner to get back to the front page and it would clear everything like it does for you. I found that if I instead click on the link for the cougarguard.com Forum Index or on the link for the specific forum that I am in, the new posts indicators stay there.

Maybe it is my FireFox browser. I will try this site in IE to see if it makes a difference.

Yep, it has something to with my FireFox browser. I have been fine with IE. Guess I need to check some setting for that browser.
