Survival Campout this weekend

Two main rules:

1. no tents
2. don't bring any food (food is provided by me)

It's not hard-core, but the boys enjoy it.

The boys said that cooking utensils are not allowed either.

I will be bringing:
2 rabbits
1lb frog legs
6lb whole smelt
bag of potatoes
ears of corn

I hope they have fun.

I loved these when I was a scout. I hated them when I was a leader. I guess I've gotten soft.

I like your food list. Too many times the menu for these things is a can of Dinty Moore.

I will be here: ^

tonight. Wish me luck. Wish the boys eating burned and raw rabbit meat good luck.

Well how did it go?

ok. the kids cooked one rabbit, most of the frog legs, and a few fish (had to bribe them on the fish).

The lesson I learned is that the kids can refuse to eat.

My grandpa used to cook us frog legs growing up they are not bad, taste a lot like chicken.

The lesson I learned is that the kids can refuse to eat.

So, of the three choices, they found the fish to be the least appealing?

So the years roll by. Tonight's survival campout, on the menu:

dinner: one whole fresh not-frozen duck
breakfast: 6 quail

That's it. Sounds gourmet to me. Spoiled kids.
