Repercussions for the league?

Is the whole thing fair?

My opinion he gets a year suspension from the league after he gets out of jail. No double dipping. We will see Mike Vick in about 3 years playing in the NFL as a backup for some team, as he tries to make a comeback. He will flame out and will never be heard from again. Also as soon as he goes to jail expect Atlanta to try and get some of that signing bonus back and to get out of his deal. Not only did this cost him 2 years of his life and career, but it is also going to cost him the remaining 117 million on his contract.

I really hope the league backs off and runs his NFL suspension concurrent with his prison time. I don't like what he's done, but I would like to see him have an opportunity to redeem himself.

I don't think there's any question it's fair. He fought this thing up until he knew there was no chance whatsoever of him getting off. He accepted the plea deal not because it was the right thing to do, but because he is trying to save his own ass as much as possible.

I've been in my fair share of trouble, and it is really hard for me to feel sympathetic to Vick.

I think he's getting a raw deal.

For some reason America has a strong stomach for human on human violence in our entertainment but we have a very weak one when a dog is hurt.

I hope he comes back to the league. Give him a year away from the game and tell him to come back as a running back.

A little bit.

We have athletes who have killed people in DUI's playing. We have athletes who have roughed up their wives. We have athletes who sexually assault women. We have athletes who beat the hell out of other humans. We have athletes with drug problems that ruin the lives of others. We have an athlete that kills dogs and we have thousands of people on espn.com, on the radio, message boards, etc, calling for the dude's head.

If he is out for 18 months, he could be back for the 2009 season...but I bet nobody touches him until 2010, at which point, he'll be a 30-31 year old QB with nearly three years out of football.

Someone will pick him up though, and sell out every home game, and every road game.

America loves a sideshow.

I'm interested to know what the other men would've testified to, and what the real facts are...fairness can't really be determined until that info is made public.
