Justice Prevails - Jeffs Found Guilty
 

Wow, interesting. I'm no lawyer, but all along I thought this would be a very tough case for the prosecution. While of course I can't comment on the legitimacy of the guilty verdict, I'm sure glad to see it.

No one hates Jeffs like Mormons. It's like a form of self-loathing. Mormon culture created him, at least indirectly. Also, see Adam's brilliant posts on CB comparing what Jeffs did to what Mormon General Authorities in times past did. Many geezers married 14 and 15 year olds.

JS was a charismatic and a genius. It's like people will tolerate things done by Woody Allen and Mick Jagger and Abraham for which they'd despise us.

Some guys are just jealous they don't get their way. Personally I've never been turned on by a 14 year old, except when I was 14. But I've never been turned on by a 44 year old either.

I think it was appropriate he was found guilty, although I'm surprised by the verdict. For me, it's not about the polygamy, but the age of the girl.

However, I think life in prison would be excessive.

His methods and practices weren't much different from Jeffs'. He may or may not have been a prophet (just for the sake of argument), but either way his advances/threats toward teenagers and other men's wives were indeed repulsive.
