How can the press secretary do her job if she is banned from the white house? I thought she looked very nice in her purple outfit, it is not very polite to call her a hag.

Their consistent message is: "Americans, you had your voice when you elected "the decider," and now you should just shut up."

The whole thing runs like free advertising for the Democratic candidate of your choice.

What about the contempt shown for President Bush, his office and the structure in place to make these decisions -such as generals and commanders on the ground in Iraq reporting back tot he White House?

I did not hear contempt in the press secretaries voice but rather logic, spoken in clear language in the face of absurd babbling from a reporter.

And yes, the reporters comments are absurd!

Contempt for the press? More like a wearying of playing the same dumb games with Helen Thomas time after time while she hogs the allotted time for other media members who might have more productive and relevant questions to ask.

Thomas was given reasonable answers until her increasingly ridiculous follow up "questions" got to the point that she was rightfully shut down so someone else could have the floor.

The Bush Administration's Press Secretaries have shown contempt for the press time after time after time. You aren't actually going to argue this point, are you?

Weary of playing the same "dumb games?" How is that not contempt? You don't have to like Helen Thomas, but our current President is constantly initiating such "dumb games" (and through his Press Secretary and in this very instance).

Hmmm. Do you think Bush's secretaries show more or qualitatively different contempt for the press than other presidents? Are you suggesting that this particular press secretary's rather negative reaction to Helen THomas's rather silly questions (IMO) was something other than one person getting tired of dealing with another person? I am not sure you are wrong in your conclusions (although I don't share them) but I don't see evidence for them in the clip that was posted.
