Boyd Petersen is Nibley's son-in-law and is running against Becky Lockhart for State Senate as a Dem. I took a look at his website and read some of the linked articles. It seems that Utah County Republicans are intent on turning the state into a little Chicago with their cronyism, bribery and bullying. This article was particularly troubling:

I learned this morning that campaign donations received by Utah candidates can be used for almost anything. Curt Bramble (local mob boss) took part of his cash and gave it to Chris Buttars, the biggest nutjob in the state legislature.

What is really interesting is the comments on the blog. Lots of folks have had run-ins with our buddy Bramble.

I resent this article's usurpation of the term "Happy Valley."

it'll be interesting to see if bramble stays in leadership or if more sensible forces vote him out.

The most troubling part of Utah politics is the first lady:

She scares me.

Holy Stepford wife. First photo I've seen of here but that looks positively creepy.

She looks right through me and stares at the wall behind me. And has burned two holes in that wall.
