Psychobabble and accents

BHO is a Harvard educated Hawaiian who speaks with an accent like he's from Birmingham. I can understand why on some level. But is it for others or himself?

It reminds me of Kissinger who left Germany at 15, but at 85 speaks like he left Bavaria yesterday. This always made me think he was acting to a degree - playing the part of the smart German Jew.

It's probably intentional. I've known several missionaries that come back speaking with a fake accent and claim they can't shake it. It's usually done to pick up chicks. Obama does it to pick up votes.

Machiavellianism is an interesting concept when applied to politicians. I would think that most successful politicians would be categorized as High Machs. One of the traits of High Machs is to adapt to the speech, accentl, etc. of whoever they are talking too.
