Cowboys win

thank goodness, because this town would have burned to the ground had the Cowboys lost.

Talk radio would have gone into War of the Worlds panic-overdrive here in Big D.

Now all the talk is going to be about Roy Williams and how he came through, after all the skepticism and talk. It's so boring and predictable. The guy I like most on sports radio (what little I listen to) is the guy who tends to say the occasional provocative, shocking thing, and otherwise operating in a slightly ironic, irreverent manner--Randy Galloway.

If you are an intelligent person, how long can you talk about sports before you literally go crazy? I happened to be watching the Sports Reporters this morning on ESPN, and I had to laugh when they were talking about Matt Barkley, QB for USC. It was almost to the point of "where were you when", akin to the JFK assassination, or the Challenger blowing up, or the towers falling. Where were you when the drive of the century took place, leading to the USC win over OSU, when a star was born? I chuckled last night when Brent Mush-mouth called the USC win "a victory for the ages." I caught a snippet of the blood-porn fest "300" tonight--maybe, just maybe, that was a victory for the ages. USC vs. OSU? I'm not so sure.

Of course, I'm the guy who plays the ironic guy taking on the irony of the whole thing, which means I'm paying attention about as much as anyone. So I'll take my lumps. I'm wasting my damn time on this nonsense--these sports, these shows, this website, you. Yes, you.

This is how a sports fan dies. He's just the now empty seat that someone else buys.

Go Cowboys.
