well the experiment is over
you know, the experiment of can BYU win with intramural-level bigs.
Can't win enough to sniff winning the WCC. This is now the 2nd year that BYU has been so undermanned that they had to trot out football players. I consider Corbin to be a football players, even though he has committed to basketball. He was no more prepared than his older brother. Oh well. I think I will check back in for the remaining games of St. Mary and Gonzaga and the tournament. I expect BYU to lose the first two handily, and I give BYU <5% chance to get to the tourney final, and less than 1% chance of actually winning it. |

I was in a generous mood.

I wouldn't say it was an experiment, but rather the result of a gap in recruiting that happened 3-4 years ago.
It was finally fixed when they signed Mika and Dastrup who are legit high major recruits. But because of missions we only saw one year of Mika and none of Dastrup so far. Other recent signees like Worthington, Neilson and Andrus, even from BYU's perspective, were never recognized as more than reserve level players. Kyle Davis will at least get us scoring in the paint next year along with hopefully Jamal Aytes. |
I watched a few minutes of the game against Santa Clara. I liked seeing Andrus getting boards.
I read later that Rose is going away from this 1-big lineups. |
