There is a YM in our ward who can't read particularly well. He's much better than he used to be, but he still struggles. For example, he messes up about 75% of the time he does the sacrament prayer (it's more the deficit in reading skills than nerves I think).

In the past, the Bishop has actually called someone to tutor him.

Anyway, I decided to get him a book. But the problem is, how do I get him to read it? I chose the Great Brain, because I like the series, and it might appeal to his sense of fun and mischief.

But how do I actually get him to read it? I thought about saying if he reads this book, I'll get him the next one, and so forth.

Btw, his dad is a control freak, and I might have to be careful not to ruffle his feathers.
